Every month (almost!), starting in August 2024, Bulwark Games has been hosting a Saturday of roleplaying games, inspired by June's Free RPG Day and July's Dungeon Crawl Classics Day.

September 2026's RPG Day will be held on Saturday 31st October. The games themselves will run between  10am-5pm, and be split into two sessions, morning and afternoon:

Morning: 10.30am-2pm

* Alice is Missing

'Alice is Missing is a silent role-playing game about the disappearance of Alice Briarwood, a high school junior in the small town of Silent Falls.

The game is played live and without verbal communication. Players inhabit their character for the entirety of the 90-minute play session, and instead of speaking, send text messages back and forth to the other characters in a group chat, as well as individually, as though they aren’t in the same place together.

Hauntingly beautiful, deeply personal, and highly innovative, Alice is Missing puts a strong focus on the emotional engagement between players, immersing them in a tense, dramatic mystery that unfolds organically through the text messages they send to one another.'

* Pendragon - Feast of the Forest

'A Halloween- suitable tale of dishonour, spirits of the land, and possible redemption.'

Pendragon is Greg Stafford's award-winning Arthurian roleplaying game. As players you take on the role of knights following the chivalric code. It introduced traits and passions that reward players acting as virtuous knights as they compete for glory.

* Dungeons and Dragons - The Joys of Extradimensional Spaces (Perfect for Beginners!)

'This beginner-friendly one shot for Dungeons and Dragons follows a group of adventurers who have com to the library-fortress Candlekeep searching for Matreous, a renowned sage whose help they need to remove a curse from their village, but end up discovering an entirely different adventure along the way.'

Afternoon: 2.30pm-6pm

*Mothership - No Strings Attached
'The original briefing stated you, the party, would be learning about the wonders and joys of growing and harvesting potatoes across an entire agricultural planet, the corporation thinks that would have been so exciting! But, I’ve got other plans… After calling in some favours and pulling some strings, I’m sending you to investigate an abandoned freighter vessel in orbit of said planet, Epsum V. Apparently the vessel’s crew were some sort of new and aspiring scientists? Regardless, I want you to find out what they were researching, and bring me back something, anything, pertaining to their research.'

* Shiver - All Hallows' Eve
'It is Halloween night, 1988, in a sleepy northern town. The house on the hill looms over you as you contemplate whether this is going to be the year. The towns kids show respect to anyone who can step foot in the house on Halloween. "Get as far as you can go try and bring something back". The house has been abandoned for 30 years you think, what's the problem? Logic and reason however, does not account for the light on upstairs.

Shiver RPG is a system designed around delivering a session with the pacing of a horror movie. A d6 system with an emphasis on resourceful escapes rather than heroic fights. It's unique 'doom clock' system ensures the danger grows and grows until it's too late!'

Attendance will be just £3 per session, and players are welcome to attend both sessions if they so wish!
